60 Hertz Project is a live band of musical production team formed in June 2009 from a township called Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria, South Africa. The project's musical focus is on Jazzy House, Deep, Broken Beats, Lounge, Afro and Soulful House. The team consists of a fusion of musicians and producers. The band's captivating, high-energy performances takes audiences back in time as 60 Hertz Project blends musicianship, creativity and tradition.
'Beat To Soul' is more than just music; It's a reflection of the pulsating energy of South Africa's underground house music, it is an exploration into the depths of underground soulful, broken beats and afro house music. Showcasing 60 Hertz's affirnity deep, textured beats with sensational vocals by the very best female vocalists such as 'Shalati Mahori who is featured on tracks like 'Ngwananga, Inner Visions, and Right Here' and female vocalist Lebogang Distepu who has been featured on a track called 'We love it here' and also a male vocalist Thapelo Lefifi who has been featured on tracks like 'Nako Yaka, Beat To Soul, Ndiyaku Khumbula and Faithfully'. Each track embodies 60 Hertz's skills in creating jazzy, soulful immersive, rhythmic experiences. 'Capricorn' and 'Tapta Beach' songs have been included in this album and both songs where introduction of the band to the public and was released under GOGO Music as EPs in 2012, of which they both made it to the top #1 spot on major download sites such as Traxsource, and was played several times on radio shows such as Metro FM, Motsweding FM, Lesedi FM and VUZU TV.
